During National Science Week (15-23 August 2015) Team Swinburne took part in the KIOSC ‘Careers of the Future’ Expo for schools at Caribbean Rollerama.
KIOSC – the Knox Innovation, Opportunity and Sustainability Centre – is a partnership between Swinburne, local schools and the Knox City Council. It promotes the development of skills, career opportunities and future pathways for secondary school students.
Representing Swinburne Engineering, Team Swinburne displayed both our 2014 competition car and our race simulator for six participating schools, with Team Leader Jamie Allender and members Chris, Jarrod and Tom operating the simulator, presenting to the schools and answering student questions throughout the day. Our 2012 competition car also made an appearance, on display with industry partner Cummins.
Working with motivated kids who are interested in what you do is a very rewarding experience. The exhibition also displayed health and medical technology, environment, energy and transport innovations, as part of the Swinburne Course range.
